Hi, my novel Seven Seasons of Black & White is available at www.tatepublishing.com The book is based on the Lumbee tribe and presents an Indian woman's search for love as she attempts to strike a balance between her thick native roots and the trials of modern day life.

  1. Your photo would have made me think you were Italian, not Native.

  2. I think she looks very much Native American. My mother was Thelma Chavis, and her mother was Lessie Locklear daughter of Lawrence Locklear. My mom was raised in North Carolina in Laurinburg. She went to the Normal Indain School once it was completed. My g.father Sandy Chavis and g.g.father John Chavis help build the school. Which is now known as the College of North Carolina Pembroke. I'm sure we are cousins. I would like to talk more and see were are roads intersec. if you don't mind.
